In relation to the spring rates and so on i've sent an email to Projection Components regard this exact subject and am awaiting a reply. I supose its all down to the angle of the dangle on the linkages as to how strong the spring needs to be, the r6 dog bones and linkage are alot shorter so the leverage may be higher putting more pressure on the spring regardless of overall weight of the bike.
Obiously from my point of veiw it's all theory and like all these thing unless I try I'll never know, i have heard that a busa shock is an option but the 06 R6 unit is far more adjustable and if companies are making specific adapters for it there must be an eliment of method in the madness.
At this time it's just an idea for when i get a chance but as soon as i know 100% what the verdict is i'll let you guys know as well!
As an aside Projection Component do some really nice exhaust hangers and other bits for exup 400,600,750 & 1k and so on so they are well worth remembering at least. Get rid of the pillion pegs at last!! The girlfriends got her own bike so it not like i need 'em!!

Re: Oil usage and new rear shock???
This is the reply i got from the company providing the shock adapter....
"We've use R6 shocks on a few different bikes and the spring has been there or thereabouts but we can't say for definite if the spring rate will suit you or your bike, sorry.
As for possibly fouling on the battery box, the bikes we've used them on haven't had issues but the FZR1000s had their battery boxes removed (we used a smaller A123 battery on them) so we can only confirm that they can be made long enough to replace the standard shock. I know this sounds like a load of legal, no-blame clap trap, but we won't comment on things we haven't tried."
That's about as non committal an answer as you can get.
Not sure what to make of it really. Do I? Don't I? Hmmmm......

Re: Oil usage and new rear shock???
spose you could always sell the items on if you give it a try and aren't happy with the end result. You MAY lose a few quid but if you get the shock and bits for the right money in the first place you may even make a profit if you're canny
