Pull the peanut cover off the side of the motor and take a look man. Something may have come apart or broken in there and lodged itself in the gears.

OK WAS ABLE TO REMOVE STARTER AND CONNECTED TO THE BATTERY IT DID SPIN , I REMOVED THE PEANUT AND THE GEARS IN THERE WHERE ABLE TO SPIN BY HAND AS WELL. INSTALLED ANOTHER STARTER COIL AND STILL NO START JUST CLICKING, EVRYTHING ELECTRICAL SEEMS TO BE WORKING. IM GETTING STRESSED ! GOING TO BUY A NEW BATTERY TO SEE IF THAT WORKS

Happen has a good spark so looks like battery is good. Nothing
Happened when I try to start it with screw driver

So again have you attempted a bump start? as Don also mentioneddayalalito wrote:Almost welded the screwdriver to solenoid with the spark it producedlamer wrote:Anyone else confused? I am. try and jump it off of your car before you spend the money on a new battery for it to just sit all winter. make sure your car is off though. your car battery should have enough to start your bike if the battery is dead. but if you get enough spark to weld a screw driver to the starter then its probably not your battery.

OK SO I REPLACED THE SOLENOID (WE I TRY TO START THE BIKE IT STILL JUST CLICKS NO CRANK FROM ENGINE), I WAS ABLE TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE STARTER AND STILL DOING THE SAME THING, TRIED THE JUMP IT WITH MY CAR , NOTHING STILL JUST CLICKS. IM AT A LOSS OF WORDS !
thanks Dayalalito

did you put a new starter on it?
if not then take the starter to you local parts store and have them test it . it may spin off the bike but on the bike it may not have enough torque .

Put it in gear and try to push it. or pull the flywheel cover and put a wrench on it
Does the engine turn over? ("turn over" = crankshaft rotation )

no engine doesnt crank (TURN OVER) the only thing i hear is the starter solenoid clicking, im going to replace the battery, im willing to look at the flywheel, where is it located in the bike as im new to thisreelrazor wrote:Put it in gear and try to push it. or pull the flywheel cover and put a wrench on it

Re: went to start up bike no luck! just clicking no cranking
The flywheel / alternator cover is on the left side. There is a gasket, but this is a 'dry' cover; the crank seal SHOULD keep all the oil inside the engine. The gasket is there to keep water out as much as it is to contain oil leakage. Note that the crank pickup is in the cover; all you can check with the cover off is that the engine isn't seized / frozen - you won't be able to actually start it by turning the flywheel.
Push-starting, as suggested by a few people so far, is a time-honoured way of lighting off uncooperative engines.

Re: went to start up bike no luck! just clicking no cranking
ER..... sit on the bike have someone push you (any retard will do) pull the clutch lever in (left hand lever) and pop it into gear (the gear lever is or should be close to your left foot) release (leave go of) the clutch lever. DOES THE ENGINE TUMBLE or does the rear wheel lock up?
sheese, Thats how to Push start (bump start) if you aint already got it.
BTW Don theres no gasket on the 600 stator cover, I suspect a lost cause here tho

thanks Lamer,
Clutch left HAND and gears on LEFT side of bike near left foot
BRAKEs are on the RIGHT SIDE. (REAR brakes pedel near RIGHT FOOT, FRONT BRAKES on right hand )
BUMP START while rolling put into gear, release clutch and see what happends right ?
Lamer thanks for the lesson, (i already knew this)

And the reason you have not attempted a BUMP START is why......dayalalito wrote: BUMP START while rolling put into gear, release clutch and see what happends right ?
