engine swap
just wanted to know if it is possible to do a swap with a r6 engine on a 95 fzr600. any one know?

Short answer is no. Long answer is I'm sure with enough time and money you could.

The only rason i am looking at it is that was talking to a guy that owns a shop that works with us tells me to do every thing that needs to be done to my engine carbs need cleaning/rebuilt, valves need new seals almost time for a new clutch for parts and labor i could prolly just put a new motor in so i am looking to update it with new tech but keep the old school look that i like.

R6= stacked transmission....prolly wider countershaft (front sprocket farther out than FZR-by a bunch)..know the clutch is mounted higher....think the countershaft is too-means weird chain angle to get to the rear wheel.
R6 engine has cam drive at side of engine, instead of down the middle-likely moves the throttle bodies off center-maybe not. Throttle bodies ARE on centers wider than the FZR's carbs-so space between the frame rails might (will) be tight-if not non-existant.
Need more radiator for sure.
I've seen an FZR400 frame with a CBR929 engine, seen them with RZ/RD engines and 600cc two stroke sled engine AND torque converter clutches
So, can you do what you propose? Sure. Will it be easy? Prolly not. Would it be fun and interesting, yeah, to me.....wishing I had that kinda free time.
of course, I really love a good 'sleeper'....if I had an R6 engine I would take pains to make it look like a full on old skool FZR...no tail swaps or any of that...just "see ya" the first time some squid thought he'd blast to "old" bike.....ehh...I do that now anyway.

any help any one can give me would be appriciated going going to get my mechanic in the riding group i am in to start making plans to start working on drafts of what he can do or any one that could do it this sumer. the only thing i can do for right now is get what i have to last until then. but any ideas from the people that know more about it than i do would help me out a hell of a lot more than i got now.

the 03/04 R6 throttle bodies will definately fit between the frame rails if on the R6 engine. However the head is definately wider so I am betting it will be pretty damn difficult to get it into the frame. Although it being a steel frame would give me more confidence to chop the frame a little and make it fit.

Tthat and also if needed possibly channel the frame to fit. I know alot about mechanics but dont haave the equipment to do what needs to be done and going to japan in june would prolly pay some one to do it so that i have the performance of a brand new bike in an old style bike.

The front fairing will swap, but you need the correct windscreen and fairing mount.
The problem with dropping an R6 engine into a FZR frame has more to do with the head width and the lack of mounting. The FZR engine uses frame rails to attach the engine (the head is free) while the R6 engine has arms that come down from the frame to bolt to the cylinder head. You can fab those and weld them on. The FZR400 framed CBR900/929 engine bike used a 3TJ frame which is very different from the FZR600 and 400 we got here in the states. You really need both engines so you can sit them down and map out what mounts need to be fabricated or moved to work. Also, you can bet on some frame cutting and welding to get the head into it. There was someone who did it a long time ago, and his frame split in 2 because of lack of strength from the amount of material he took away. So yes it probably can be done, but it is going to take you a long time and investment to do it. I would buy a second frame to work on in case it doesn't work out.
Best thing you can do is to either repair you engine, drop in a YZF600 engine (bolts right in but you need other parts), or get a different bike. You will wind up spending a ton of money getting an R6 engine shoehorned into the FZR frame.

If I were to tackle a project like this I would cut the FZR frame at the steering stem and space out the rails enough to fit the R6 head easily enough, and then re-weld the next back in with whatever plate you need to extend with.
I wouldn't mind giving a project like this a shot actually. Maybe if I can get my hands on a cheap clean title FZR600 frame I'll give it a go.

i like the idea tht freestyle has about spacing the rails out but idk what i am going to do yet

If you go that route ensure, the steering geometry is bang on. You cant just go cutting the "steering stem" off the frame and expect to re-aline it perfectly, some kinda jig or electronic geometry equipment WILL be required. Personally I would only trust a Professional to weld such critical joints. I can weld in a fashion, yet I don't have a death wish.
Would such a frame even pass inspection?? The inspectors/testers think of other road users I.E. if the front end falls off they care about where it and the remainder of the bike will come to rest, they don't want you to die or get injured on the road either.
