Fox Twin Clicker

Post by loki32687 »

Found one for $35. Worth it? How much would a rebuild run me?

Never heard of one going that cheap, even in terrible condition. Sounds like either it's got something majorly wrong (bent or nicked piston) or whoever is selling it has no idea.

If the parts are in ok condition I think you can send it to fox to have it rebuilt for somewhere in the ~200-250 range.

From the sounds of it, they just purchase bikes and part them out...Worst case scenario, I'm out $35

I'd make sure it's a fox and not a progressive. I've seen a lot of breakers list things incorrectly.

What would you guys say it's worth?

Who else rebuilds them and what should I expect to pay? I sent fox an e-mail. Just want to know if I have any other viable options. Or if I should swap the spring or anything.

Fox should still have the components to rebuild them. As long as it's in decent shape, you can rebuild it yourself.

Obviously, sending it out to be done will be more expensive.

Check with CTR Suspensions (http://www.ctrsuspensions.com/cgi-bin2/ccp51/cp-app.pl) for rebuild pricing.

I don't trust myself to rebuild it...

I had a shock rebuilt by a local guy for $80, and that was with a new line he had put in, might not be able to find it that cheap again, but http://www.ingramshocks.com/ is the website for the guy that did mine.

So, Ingram says that everything looks good. :) Into a Fox TC for under $100, I'm quite happy.
