Lower Fairing Compatibility

Post by 80gs750 »

Will the 1989 FZR600 lower fairing pieces fit my son's 1996 FZR600? I found a local guy that is offering the 1989 pieces for $80. He describes them as "in pretty good shape a few minor spots messed up". I'm supposed to go look at them later today.

Thanks.

Should swap right over. And welcome to the group.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Thanks for the quick reply (and the welcome)! I've been looking for a reasonably priced set of these for a long time. Unless they are completely trashed, this seems like a good deal. I'll post a follow-up after I check them out.

If you have some time and paitents, Plastex is wonderfull stuff and can fix nearly anything. I've used it to fill in the side marker holes and some cracks on an upper fairing. But sanding it is a real pain in the ars.

Good luck.

We picked up the fairings today. I think they look pretty good for $80. The PO started removing some of the graphics and stickers, so they look funky in that respect, but they are in good condition. Both fairings have the recessed area near the top middle broken out (see photo), but that should be repairable. Did I do OK with these?ImageImageImage

Seem pretty decent for 80 bucks if you can get them to attach to the bike solidly.

Welcome to the board. Post pictures of your bikes if you get a chance.

Pretty decent, especially that you found them locally and didn't have to pay shipping prices.
