New Style VR on 89 FZR 600
Any way to test the new style VR without the bike running. The bike died and took out the pickup coil, and TCI, so the bike is not running and I would like to test the VR before starting, even though we are saving the money to have Don fix the TCI.

Re: New Style VR on 89 FZR 600

The "withstand" rating of the 4JH VRR is 240V, and a braver man than I might try feeding household power across each pair of input terminals in succession, but it's not an experiment I'd recommend to someone who isn't REAL sure of what he's doing, and has the (bike) parts to burn in attempting to do so.
Probably the best way to test the VRR of a non-running bike is to dismount it and take it to your buddy's house, and connect it to his running bike...

Sorry - nothing more intelligent to add.
