PMF,
Depends if it is some weird colour. Over here in the UK I can get frame & swinger done for a 100UKP (200 usd) delivered & collected by their courier providing it is either black or silver.

Odd bits like wheels are usually about 45UKP (90USD) if separate but usually cheaper for two ie 60UKP and standard colours ( the trick is not to be in a hurry ask the guy to put it thro with a commercial batch of the colour you want.)

BIG WARNING!!
do NOT let the powder coat people clean the wheel in their DIP TANK it will screw with the rim edge metal & dis-colour it so that it is a PITA to polish the rim edge.

Have the wheel blasted clean using walnut shell or beads ask your blasting company which is best on your wheel

That doesnt look like mine, but mine came from Vortex. It looks to have the offset though and even looks a little beefier. That one might even work better out of the box since the vortex one has a raised boss where the nut sits again that I ground down for better nut engagement. That one doesnt seem to have it.

Good call. All this talk about swingarms has me buying parts already. I wish I had figured out my CDI was bad a week sooner before I bought a YZF swingarm, R6 wheels, FZR rear wheel(which I guess I technically wont need thanks to the YZF setup), and front triple, and $60 worth of front fender mounting hardware. Can you beleive that? $60 for 6 screws, 2 nuts, 6 grommets and sleeves. This hybrid forum is gonna break me!

Once you get ALL your parts, a good weekend and you should be able to be back on the road.

hybrids are endless....a hybrid is a endless peice of metal eating money. if you can dream it up you canbuild it...but at one point ya gotta realize its pointless haha.

i could of had at least a 98+ gsxr 750 with FI with what i spend on my old fzr already. :duh:

The key in any build is patience. You can find the stuff cheap, but you have to wait for it. A little luck too!

I just bought a 1-3/16" drill bit to drill my bearing holes deeper. If you're doing this swap, then I'll sell the bit to you and so on...

I am so ready to get my YZF swinger mounted to the FZR400 frame...

RD,
If you are using a drill bit in those holes , then you "peck drill" them so as not to get swarf (the metal you remove) riding up the drill and scoring the original hole & rendering the bearing fit useless.

The process is just plunging the drill up & down in VERY short bursts so the metal you remove drops down the hole & thro to the other side of the swing arm

if you do not understand what I am on about ask your uncle with the Bridgeport mill I am sure he is very familiar with the technique .

I have yet to bore out my center . Don't have a dremel and kinda afraid to put a drill bit in there . Was gonna file it down by hand with a half rounded file or else see if my boy can hook it up at his machine shop. All I need to know is am I suppose to make a lil edge for the bearing to sit flush against it or when I push the bearing in is there any chance it will slide in too deep ?
