The headlight switch in the cluster should read continuity (near-zero) when released, open when pushed.

Thanx Don, and every other member who took the time to view and respond to this post. To get the left switch open before I re-opened that right switch for the third time, a friend and I took a hacksaw to the last screw that was the most rounded out and corroded, made a new slot to allow a large flathead to be inserted, and was FINALLY able to get it off after a two day soak in WD-40. Upon opening the switch, sure enough, it was the infamous blue wire that had come unattached from it's solder point. Got a solder pen and solder, re-attached it, HEADLIGHTS!!!!! Touched up the yellow wire that would of been loosening up from its soldered point soon, made sure the new solders weren't touching, and reassembled the switch. Problem solved. Getting paid this weekend and investing in stainless steel Allen head bolts, some copperslip, and making sure this crap doesn't happen again hopefully. Now I have more time and money to devote to mending and painting the fairings rather than paying the ticket, or worse yet, the hospital bills from having no lights . Would not be able to do that, and would still be wigging out mentally if it weren't for you guys here. Yet again, +1 fzronline! If you treat your wiring loom as thought it was a set of water pipes you cannot really go wrong.
The battery with no load should read about 13.8 volts whilst engine running.
All bulbs receive 12V +.
The only time time a wire does not read voltage is a} switched off or b} broken c} it is a ground wire d} being grounded by wear to its insulation/ dampness & making a ground that way.
As you go thro the harness CLEAN all the connectors & buy some Di-Electric grease to pack into them to prevent corrosion/water entry.
DO NOT USE any other type of grease for this job.

Emt,
Me I pack in it at the back of the connectors so water/ moisture that runs along a wire or the insulation tubes etc is kept away from the metal pins/sockets. Since the di-electric grease does get on the metal it also stops them corroding :-}
My 100mg tube of it seems to have been here forever
