Alright guys I know its around somewhere but haven't been able to locate it so here it goes.
I have a 1996 Yamaha Fzr 600 u.s. and just got a set of forks from an 03 Yamaha yzf600 with the blue dot brakes. I've got a little time where I can't ride so I figured why not work on the bike.
What I am wondering is how intensive is the full fork swap, or just the brakes, or just the fender?
What I bought was the forks, lower clamp, bearings, stem, render, tire, rim, brakes all put together. Its the front end without the top clamp and the clipons or any brake lines. .
What all is interchangeable and reasonably easy? My neighbor is a welder and we're about to take on the task of putting a new tail on her so I thought might as well do the front as well.
Any info would be appreciated

i cant remember if those are the inverted forks or not, but if they are conventional im almost positive they are a strait swap

I did this swap this winter. You WILL need to get a top triple clamp and clip-on bosses because the YZF forks are wider and have a different offset.
The YZF stem will fit into the FZR steering head with no modification needed, however, the YZF forks are longer than FZR so I would recommend pulling them up about 1/2in to 3/4in above the clamps to restore original ride height. Also, if you are planning to use your FZR ignition, the top triple clamp will need to be modified a bit to make it fit. Good Luck!
