dumb question
heres a dumb question band im sure some one has asked this. from the pics iv seen of the fzr1000 they all look like they have a wider rear wheel than the 600. if this is true would the 1000s swing arm fit the 600 with little problems.

Short Answer - no. The FZR1000 swingarm is a lot wider where it connects to the frame and machining is involved.
Anytime you add a wider rim to the rear, you generally end up with sprocket alignment issues. The most common swingarm upgrade for the FZR600 is the YZF600 swingarm, but that still requires machining of the swingarm and an extended front sprocket.

Also, I THINK the 1000 swingarms were a bit longer than the 600 which would somewhat adversely affect the handling of the bike.
