got another guess the brand

Post by jos21802001 »

of you did so good on my last one. lets see what I can find out on it . This header doesn't look stock to me but i can be wrong. It is on my 1989 yamaha FZR600. Kept in mine this was a bike raced up at Summit Point and I bought it and put it back on the street. It fits under fairing but really close to the right on also had to trim out bottom of fairing where meets mid pipe.

to be honest it looks like an Vance and Hines SS2R full system header, but it doesnt have the spring hooks on it
I did that.

I think they have a S/N # stamped on them but it probably rusted off.

That's the lower model vance and hines header. The supersport I believe. The ss2r has removable end pieces that bolt to the head first and then you slide the header pipes over them and use the springs to secure it. The muzzy offsets the stack at the collector where the V&H puts them right over each other.

Less expensive model, but certainly better sounding and I would wager higher performance than the SS2R.
