I've given the lecture many times already. This time, I'll just ask - Why do you want to lower the bike?

Well, 1.5" is A LOT (not just "a hair"). How tall are you? More relevantly, what does your inseam measure? I ask because I have about a 26" - 27" inseam and I get along fairly painlessly. Lowering the bike that much will take away a lot of ground clearance. Also, unless you lower the front accordingly, you will kill the handling that the bike is known for. On top of all that, you'll have to chop the side stand so the bike won't fall over on the other side.

BTW, My track bike is actually raised about a half inch in the rear and I still do okay. Good thing there aren't any stop lights on a race track! Makes maneuvering around the pits a little interesting at times.

If you're doing it for looks, that would be a different discussion.
