I hate this air box on the bike fitting is nuts , the boots are worn , one is cut at the bottom and when I attach the top holes everywhere . Which I block with silastic each time i fit the box but still I reckon it should go and these put on
http://www.pjmotorsports.com/velocity-s ... lters.html

then get a bigger tank.

well ......... maybe one day if I keep the bike.
Plug chop time I reckon. I'm just a little concerned with "run for a few seconds at full throttle " must this be done in 6th ?? can I cheat and do it in a lower gear , would I get the same result ?

You want to do it as high a gear that you can safely carry. On a track or dyno, it's easy - on the street, not so much.

Remember - fresh plugs first!

Hi, Simon. The #37.5 jets are your "starter" jets, aka your enrichener jets, oft referred to improperly as the choke. When you pull the lever on the side of the frame, it pulls a cable that pulls a rack that pulls 4 little plungers, one in the side of each carb. This opens the 'starter jet' passage and allows additional fuel to get sucked into the throat.

Also, if you're setting this up with 3LN1 jets, (including a #105 pilot air jet), you might want to consider a #30 pilot jet.

pretty sure the bike is a 3ln1

I have a set of 30 pilots here , time to get the carbs out again :(

and thanks for the clarification

no actually I'll go out and buy a whole set of new jets , just to be sure .

rent doesn't need to be paid does it ?

**emulsion tubes are the next question , cause I have 2 sets of carbs , (obvious now from different models)

#625 and number #638 , I put in the #625's

do you know if the different size emul's are for different needles , I ask this because I have some 5ct9 needles here aswell
I put only 5ct7's back in though.

Unfortunately I can't help you with the needles and nozzles; I only have the part numbers, not the size codes. This may mean a little tuning to get the midrange right, but you seem to have had good luck so far.

1.bleed holes or no bleed holes one the pilot jets ?

2.and these illusive starter jet are 'start'ing to bug me :D but it's a starter jet so really , how important could it be , chuck in a 40 instead of 37.5 since it's only going to get used while the choke is on , maybe even a #50 since thats the lowest I have been able to source so far that has 6mm head and 9mm long is #50 upwards..

thoughts on those 2

1. Not ... actually sure. You can't have too many jets labeled "30".

2. Fair enough.

Looks right - the #37.5 should go up to a fairly large passage leading off to the side of the carb, meeting up with the starter plunger.

she just wont go , just off idle .. so the pilots have to be changed , jump straight to the 30's or progress up slower? cause 1 turn , 2 turns ,. 3 turns doesn't matter where I put the screw it still dies taking off in first . (much better with a correctly fitted exup though :))
On the flat it seems fine but on any sort of up slope the bike wants to stall at take off, and has no power down low at take off. It's ok when the speed/rev are higher.

mid is still ok and top is better . but since the streets here are only 50kph I didn't want to push it much over a 110 so no real test for full throttle has been done.
I'm still getting some backfiring/popping sounds , up to 1/4 + throttle . more so the more I open the throttle at very low speed.

I notice also the revs dont jump on instantly when I just open the throttle to full real quickly (in neutral). It hesitates for a moment.

I called around and no one has the jets I need, so interwebs for them . I do have 4 # 30's here I will attempt to clean and fit. I have carb cleaner but no air compressor.
Also I did take a video , on an 8$ mini dv off ebay :) but i cant work out how to get sound ...

I changed the pilots but ..

Now the exup servo is not doing anything :( The only thing I did near it was undo what it plugs into and clean around there , double , triple checked the plug it's all connected , but nothing , switch to on position to start the bike and the servo sits silent .. any tips on where to start looking .. fuses are fine .

dirty connection .... servo is functioning again . Must of been when I moved the wiring it was enough to completely foul up a connector . I pulled off every connector I could see and cleaned it .
