need feedback...Please

Post by riverat454 »

I got a 94 and 91 fzr-1000...The 94 is turn key but I have some questions...I have a 530 chain and rear sproket for it, what size front sproket should I run? Currently the bike runs at 4500rpm @ 70mph...Also how much noise should I hear from the valves on deceleration? The bike currently has 25,500 miles and I'm not sure if a valve adjustment has ever been done...My 91 won't turn over but the starter works fine. How difficult is it to change the starter clutch assembly?, is this part interchangeable between 89-95?, and is there any other way to turn the motor over to make sure it's not seased?

Hi, Riverat. I've just compared the parts fiches for the starter train for the '89 and '95 FZR1000. The only difference is some bolts and the chain; all the 'hard parts' are the same.

To see if the engine is seized, put it in gear, and (try to) push it down the road. Feather the clutch as you do this; if the key is on, it may actually start!

To replace the starter clutch the cases must be split.

Stock US gearing for the 1k exup is 17/47.

Do as don said. Also try push starting it. As far as valves, does it have a hard time starting? You should pull the cover off and check clearances anyway
