If it was working before - What did you do to make it change? Go back and undo whatever that was.
Or try doing a clutch actuator adjustment BY THE BOOK. That means you will need to get a manual and read the section on clutch adjustment. It is pretty easy to do and important for proper clutch function. After that you may have to investigate the shifter linkage and some other bits and pieces.
How is it when riding and shifting up and down? Does it feel like the shift is snapping into gear positively or is it vague and mushy? Any history of transmission problems like rough or noisy shifts? Did you just buy this from and idiot? (I had to ask since this is usually the case)

Re: Fzr600 will not go into neutral...
I actually start the bike every week and haven't rode it since last year. Yesterday it was nice out so I decided to take it for a spin. I went into first gear and then tried to get into to neutral and it would not go (neutral light not on), so I decided not to take it on the road afraid of something else happening. Changing gears before was fine, it had a little snap going into first gear. Its my first bike... bought this bike last year so I'm not sure if there were any trans problems previous. I will try out what you said and let you know the results, Thank you! I hope I can figure it out since I know nothing about bikes. If not, does anyone know a good bike mechanic in MD?
Also, a friend of mine at work said I might need oil....Not sure if thats true.

Make sure you check the oil level each time before you ride. Low oil could really screw up your tranny and motor.Phaze wrote:Also, a friend of mine at work said I might need oil....Not sure if thats true.

Phaze,
You mentioned that your neutral light didn't come on but are you sure it wasn't in neutral? Could be the bulb, wiring, etc. You can tell if you are in neutral by giving it a little clutch slowly. If it doesn't try to go then it is in neutral.
I think the low oil is a possibility so please check EVERY TIME YOU RIDE.

Re: Fzr600 will not go into neutral...
Hey Guys,
Well, I didnt have to take anything apart! It was very simple... I rocked the bike back and fourth a little and taa daaa! the bike went right back into neutral! I took it for a spin yesterday and everything seems fine. For some reason it was stuck in second gear. I also changed the oil, and bought a new maintainer for the battery. Thanks for the help!:)

yep that very same thing messes my girlfriend up too, you gotta move the bike back and forth sometimes so the planets align
