Ignition won't turn off motorcycle

So when I turn the key to the off position, it won't turn off the motorcycle and all the lights stay on. So nothing shuts down. I can turn the motor off with the on/off switch, but the entire motorcycle is remaining powered regardless of the key position and even if the key has been removed. I've searched for similar problems on the forums and on google, didn't find anything. I'm going to take a look at the bike today and see what I can find. Possible reasons? Bad ignition? Short in the wiring? Blown Fuse? Bad CDI connection?

You will need a wiring diagram and a Volt/Ohm meter to find the answer. Likely suspects are ignition switch or wiring in that area.
