Stock VR wiring (dumb) question

took the 4 wires (3 white 1 red) out of the plastic connector to the VR now I need to put them back and forgot WHICH PRONG does the RED wire connect to on the VR?? Yamaha wiring diagram doesn't specify. Thanks!!

What you really should do is upgrade to the finned VR with the 5 wire connector before you damage your bike. The stock VR is well known to lead to trouble and tears. Look for VR upgrade on the WIKI section.

Thanks for pic! That what I was doing...but finned VR I had from a parts bike tested bad so I 'm temporarily putting old back on which for the moment is still working ok. I'll source a new one on ebay

Look for an R/R off the Fazor 1000. It has a long lead rather than a socket which lets you mount it somewhere with a good heatsink and an airflow. The wiring colours are the same and it is a really rugged device. Its what I use on all machines with R/R problems (mainly Hondas!)
Cut the leads and SOLDER them together, no more burnt connectors.
