VR Mod not getting desired rsults
Just made the VR upgrade (even though there was nothing wrong with stock set-up which was putting out about 13.5 V at 3000 rpm) and I'm only seeing 13v max at the battery now with all wiring double checked for correctness. The six pronged VR came off an '89 600 parts bike but what bike it came from originally is unknown and no part# is visible. I may go back to stock and search out a new one as this unit doesn't seem to provide sufficient charge to battery.

Did you go back with a VR from an r6? I got lost a little bit in your post. "the six pronged vr came off an 89" Is it still a candy bar shaped VR? If yes, and you aren't happy I would source an r6 one from ebay. Cheap from a salvage yard in FL even. His name eludes me at this moment. Member id domnicprofenno . I can't remember his store name. The chop shop or something. I have a business card.

A think yours referring to a Tampa chop shop, been to their store once to pick something up I needed right away and they had a nice organized place.

I meant going back to the stock 4 prong unit for the time being as it was functioning within specs. Damn, I forgot though which prong does the red wire go on?? ( i pulled the wires out of the plastic plug-in to avoid any cutting...now need to slide them back in).
