MSF Experienced Rider Course

Post by gre3nskeeper »

I'm thinking about taking the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Experienced Rider Course this summer.
This eight-hour course will help you develop advanced braking, cornering and swerving skills under the supervision of certified instructors while aboard your own motorcycle. It will also present material on handling dynamics and traction management.
Has anyone here taken it before? Just wanted some thoughts\feedback on it.

I've heard it is good. I would love to take it. I would also like to take one that goes over 2-up riding.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Something is lurking, waiting, wanting to be built......It calls to me from the darkness....

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel....Then I realize that it is the train coming to run my ass over....

We have two classes in MO and I took the beginners. I loved it. I want to take the experienced where you take your own bike. I would highly highly recommend it. If nothing else it's a refresher course after the winter spent playing video games or wrenching.

further research seems to show that it's just low speed parking lot maneuvers and a rehash of the beginner's course.

Yes, it's worth it to learn countersteering and to practice evasive maneuvers. They also spend more time on handling dynamics. It is much more than the Beginning Rider course. I took it and thought it was worth it. Does it teach you to be 'Mike The Bike'? No.
