help on master cylinder upgrade

Post by gussy »

hey guys
I have bought 89 fzr 400/600 hybrid with blue dot callipers and my the levers and master cylinder are toast .
What would be a good master cylinder upgrade? Also is there a good ane not to pricey lever up grade ? I will be going for stainless lines.
Also wondering if the fzr 600 rotors will mount on my 400 wheel ? I will be swapping to the 600 forks I would be nice to keep my wheel .
looking forward to hearing from everyone
cheers gus

I don't mean to sound like a dick of a site director but this subject has been covered many times over so I suggest doing a search and checking the wiki.

G,
the WIKI is best hand searched, the front page at the bottom has all the HOW To:- written mostly by our own guys.
However if you go to the "tech Book & Links" page (about a1/3 way down the front page ) you get books and links to other reference points not just for FZR's but Modding in general plus references for the budding engineers we have on the membership.

The search engine we use will search the masses of writings in the various forums, this can take some time to strike a balance between stuff that is so often repeated to bog the engine or so sparse as to give no return at all.

Out side of this site there is of course Google search which can dish up loads and sometimes crap nothings of real interest , FZRArchive when it is working, and my site of stuff I have actually done to my FZR or I thought should be preserved from elsewhere.

FROM OUR WIKI:-

This is regarded by many as the BIBLE t when doing caliper to M/Cylinder ratios right !!!

I won't beat about the bush, the obvious choice with blue dot callipers is a R6 master cylinder e.t.c. sounds like Freestyle has what you need.
