replacment speedo
Ok want to replace the speedo in my bike with one that has an electric drive rather than the crappy cable drive. What bikes have an electric drive but still have an analog gauge(i really don't like the digital gauges on newer bikes). Basically i want to be able to pop the speedo out of the cluster and fit the new one in so something of a similar size to the fzr would be good. All I've found so far is the fz.
fzr660/400: fzr400 3en1 frame, 3en2 swinger, custom single seat subframe, fzr660 motor conversion, APE adjustable cam gears, full D&D 4-2-1 exhaust, falicon clutch basket, ignitech ignition, R6 front end with tz250 wheel, ohlins shock, storz steering damper, tzr250 rear wheel.
weighs 166kg wet (25kg lighter than my stock fzr600).

Re: replacment speedo
Not trying to sound like a smart+&*, but hundreds of bikes have analog electric speedos.

Which bikes this is what i need to know! Basically everything I've found is either cable and analogue or electric and digital.

Hundreds of them have analog tachometers, but most are digital speedos.RdRcr150 wrote:Not trying to sound like a smart+&*, but hundreds of bikes have analog electric speedos.

Dru,
since no one here seems to be able to give you a diffinitive answer (me included) it is time to hit your local bike breaker yards and go look I am afraid.

replacment speedo
98-2002 ZX6R. Similar years ZX7 and ZX9 if I am not mistaken either. I am 100% on the ZX6R but double check the ZX7 and 9. Pretty sure the early suzukis also fit the bill SRADs.dru86 wrote:Ok want to replace the speedo in my bike with one that has an electric drive rather than the crappy cable drive.
