Re: factory pro jet kits
Honestly, I really think the average rider will be VERY hard-pressed to tell any difference if one brand IS better than the other performance-wise. The only real advantage that I can see with the Factory Pro needles over the Dyno Jets is that you don't have to drill the slides when using the FP pieces. However, the advantage that the DJ's have is that there are 6 possible clip settings (as opposed to FP's 5) so I suppose there could potentially be a wider range of tuneability.
Hopefully, someone with more experience will chime in on this one.

Re: factory pro jet kits
I have used both kits (FP and DJ) and they both require someone who knows what they're doing to tune the bike.
I ran a DynoJet kit in one of my FZRs and didn't drill the slides. The bike hauled ass after the the correct jets were installed. I ran 130s with a stock airbox / K&N filter and a V&H Supersport exhaust.

Re: factory pro jet kits
im sure i could figure out how to tune everything and if i cant i know someone who could help.
FP has a kit that requires the removal of the air box and pods put inplace, seems like it would be a pita to tune but i dont know, just seeing if anyone has used that kit before.
im choosing FP over DJ because the DJ instructions note to drill the slide lift holes and i would rather not do that. i like to always be on the safe side, so if i screw up with the FP kit, i can go back to stock easier then with the DJ kit.

Re: factory pro jet kits
The brands have no advantage over each other. They achieve the same goal. I'm running FP Stage 1 jets in my 1000. I went with FP over DJ because FP uses the Mikuni Jet numbering system as opposed to DJ using their own numbering system. Also, you don't have to drill the slides with the DJ kits. Many people have run their jets without doing so and had no issues. Most people who run stage 3 jetting remove the airbox and put on pods because there's a myth saying you HAVE to. You don't have to do that either. Stage 3 can be run with the air with no issues. I run my bike with a K&N drop in filter and the air box and it's been great that way-and I would run it the same way if I had stage 3 jets. To sum up, Both kits are pretty much equal in what they achieve, you don't have to drill your slides nor do you have to remove the airbox. This all really comes down to proper synching/tuning once the carbs have been rejetted.
Hope that helps

Re: factory pro jet kits
Regarding the drilling of the slides with DJ needles - My guess is that at some point there IS a positive performance difference when drilling them as opposed to not. That's not to say that bikes won't run properly without doing it. I just think there IS some reason as to why they recommend it. My guess is that a decent amount of time and money was spent on the R&D that resulted in that solution.
