My track bikes a 94 Cbr600 FP (steel framed model) its fitted with a 893cc 95 fireblade engine but more importantly it runs the 95 blade swingarm and rear wheel. when the 190 section tyre became the in thing to run on your bike...YES i fitted one to the 5.5 blade wheel ( same as the standard exup 1000 rear wheel size) the bike suddenly became unstable at high speed and really felt SH*t in the corners ...............fitted a 180 again ...PROBLEM solved. I based my advice on my experience so YES i dont have experience of that particular motorcycle,BUT... i can certainly say that a 190 tyre on a 5.5 wheel is a really bad choice.......I'd hate the bike and rider to have an accident hence my concern

i can assure you guys this set up came off a track bike and has won a few races the engine didnt make it hence partout same engine but the track one was a tuned 600 same frame so have no fears i have done 100 miles on her and she feels well grounded ive been within 10mm before falling off the edge of the tyre on our twisties the only thing i need to do is put a 47 tooth on the rear and drop down a tooth on the front only for preferance as its smoother on the slower roads but plenty quick enough on the twisties staying within the law

the stock tyre for the exup i believe was front 130/60/17 rear 170/60/17

Tony,
Like I said it is the rider who will have the end say in what works on this particular bike and you seem happy with the results.
So who ever does this next can start with what you have and work with it to see if it suits them , suited the PO & you have given it the OK so i would say it is a good basis to work with as a working baseline for those who want to go out & test different combinations.

i am gonna have to cry foul here... apparently the swinger you acquired was already modded for an FZR600, which makes sense because it was taken off an FZR600 track bike. A stock EXUP FZR1000 swingarm has a wider pivot width and thicker pivot axle than an FZR600 swingarm and could not simply bolt up- these measurements are found right here on this forum

You mean some ACTUALLY has read the WIKI?

Not Knowing all the 1K series personally I thought the EXUP was earl and thus shared frame width

I suspected that from the beginning. I posted up the width of the FZR1000 swinger at one point. And then I thought to my self maybe I was wrong. I am glad I am not the only one who had my suspicions. And I still don't think the wheel could possibly be centered if the sprocket didn't have to be shimmed.

alright, dumb question:
what is the 1000 swing are made out of? aluminum? steel?
does anyone think its possible to actually make the 1000 swing arm work and line up by modding the arm?
i ask these questions because:
personally id much rather use other model fzr parts instead of the r6 and/or other model parts
id rather mod the arm rather then grinding down my frame so in an off chance of something happening/screwing up, the stock stuff could be put back on (im just funny like that).

Tony,
Your swing arm has had the Pivot bolt bit narrowed to 220mm and the bearing pockets have been re-machined so the original bearing then fit the narrowed profile.

Next time you have it apart we would all like to see what has been done so nicely that it looked stock and in such great precision as the chain lining up.

Tony,
from reading old posts on this the 1K is either 241 or 250mm(probably more likely 250) where as the frame throat is 220mm on a 600 & 400 3TJ.

I do know any FZR400 swing arm fits a 600 (tried them all personally) see:-

I have a yzf750 swinger which is 1/4" wider then the exup so I'll measure when I get home with out the caps that cover the pivots and poost up
