Just post the CL link. You can also right-click the picture to save it to your drive. From there, just post the pic as usual.apsolus wrote:what do you all think? im in need, no want, of a track bike and this fzr looks perfect!

Re: should i buy this bike?
Honestly, I think that as long as the chassis is in good shape and the motor isn't completely thrashed, $600 is decent. Although, it DOES look to be missing quite a bit. You'll probably need to look at how much you'll have to spend to gather up all of the missing stuff. Looks to be a good start for a project though.apsolus wrote:92 yamaha fzr 600 - $600

Re: should i buy this bike?
As long as the bike is mechanically sound and will pass tech inspection, you can put it on the track. You'll need to check the track day / racing org's rulebook regarding the requirements. The less you have on it in the way of lights, mirrors, etc., the better off you are. As Fizzinator suggested, make sure it's mechanically sound before buying it. Once you have it, change out all of the fluids (water w/ Water Wetter instead of coolant), change the plugs, clean / adjust the carbs, put on some new tires, possibly a new chain & sprockets, etc. If you plan on only doing track days, you probably won't have to worry about safety-wiring as most track day orgs don't require it. However, I would strongly recommend doing it anyway. Not only does it help keep stuff from working loose, but it also helps you to be sure you've tightened / torqued stuff in the first place. If you plan on racing, you will need to make sure the bike complies with the rules of the class you plan on running in. Again, check the rulebook on that.apsolus wrote:brandon, you know how craigslist is, thats his asking priceill get him down to 350 im sure. as far as getting it on the track all i would really need would be the rear tail fairings am i right? and besides i need a bike i can play with and aint so worried about dropin

Re: should i buy this bike?
I can see the oil rings up around the sactions just in the pic.. But yeah, 350-400 is decent. You may need a belly pan to race too.. You know the drill Edan, it'll be a project but if you have the cash can be done realitivily fast.

For racing, you can count on the belly pan being a requirement. Good point. You really should use one for track days as well because the last thing you want to be is that guy who causes someone to crash because you're dripping fluid onto the track (crankcase overflowing, coolant reservoir overflowing, etc.).

I'd be curious to see what the left side of the bike looks like.
