Re: buckaroo bike
i think you might find its a small impact by alot of things but more than likely its just the way these bikes work. you might try just riding the other bike to see if they ride the same
ones life is the way it is only because you allow it make it happen.

Re: buckaroo bike
Long story short mines been running on three pots for a while, Now solved.
It appears I have Micron headers, My main Jets are stock as are all my Jets (UK) the needles are also stock, set @ the second position from the top (Stock position).
I took her out tonight around 50 miles, to clear any cobwebs (unburnt fuel & carbon deposits) before I adjust/synch the carbs. She pulled like a train, all through the rev range (believe me I did thrash her). I didn't exceed the speed limit tho
I could do 40mph in top gear NP. I simulated your problem (I think) 30mph @ 2250 to 2500rpm (cant remember what gear, I don't count) she did not like it and buckarooed like hell, solution drop a gear
Hope that helps
As to the cracked valve, a possibility but unlikely. Burnt/cracked valves/seats would give problems @ even less RPM.
