1996 YZF Superbike

Let me introduce you to my 1996 YZF600R Superbike. 116HP. This is a FZR/YZF hybrid. It uses FZR crank w/YZF top end, Wiseco pistons, Carillo rods, FZR flywheel, total loss ignition, FZR Clutch w/ Barnett kevlar plates & HD springs, degreed Web cams, Stainless valves, ported, polished, Ohlins shock, Ohlins front internals, Ohlins damper, D&D exhaust, 120/70x17 & 180?55x17 Pilot Race (soon to be Pilot Pures), Sudco is in the process of building a set of 36mm flatsides for me. A proper bike in proper race colours welcome aboard, looks like China-racer will get some competition if you ever get to be on the same continent.

I bet that D&D exhaust helps it scream! Love the look of those. My V&H Supersport exhaust looked like that and the sound was incredible!

I've seen that has a tire 180/55/17 mounted. What changes have you had to do? Have you Changed the swingarm and rim? I own a Fzr600r(Europe) '95 and I want to do it. I have a Yzf750 rim(5,5") to install.

What changes have you noticed with the new wheel?.

Can I bug you for some details as to what is needed , in the right order, to come up with the 660 motor?

I am not looking for 116 hp, but 100 would be sweet. It was my racebike, but is now becoming my streetbike as I will race my R6 next yr instead.

For the YZF600 motor as the base for the 660.

All you need is the FZR600 crank. And a special seal for the end of the crank. Apprerently its some stock seal off some other bike. This is from memory when I read up on this a while ago.

There is possibly a need for a 3mm spacer but I can't remember. I do know if you do end up needing a spacer you will also need adjustable cam sprockets.

but beyond its good looks-- i am curious-- the old 600's really benefited from port radius -- is yours a radius or angled job? What angle(s) did you use? I assume at 116 ponies, they aint stock cut ports.....
