Thundercat Downpipes onto a FZR600R (4JH)
Will a set of downpipes for a YZF600R Thundercat fit a FZR600R (4JH) without any modifications?

Although I am sure SWEEKSTER will correct me again LoL

Oh a foxeye.
John can you do me a personal favour at some point & tell me what the center distance of the mounting holes for the passanger foot pegs is..
Reason for asking is there is an Urban Legend that says there are alloy foot pegs for the rear that fit the earlier model (they have naff bent tubes) FZR600. I have seen alsorts of model but never found a set that fit
Thanks

Trying to avoid doing any work so I popped out to measure for you. The hole centres are pretty much exactly 9cm apart.

It should fit with no problems. The engine between that and Foxeye and the Thundercat are the same except for the charging rotor / stator and the carbs. I don't think Yamaha changed the exhaust system between the two models.
By the way, your bike is a 1995 or 1996 not a 2004. if it is listed as a 2004, then that was the import or registration date.

Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Corrected the decade. It was first registered in April 1994. The UK 1995 model iirc had more suspension adjustment and came in different colour schemes.cad600 wrote:It should fit with no problems. Thanks. Might get this bike back on the road soonish, seen a new stainless exhaust on ebay for £100 and Motad have got downpipes for £129 which is also a bargain.
More of a project than I was hoping for although it is about as bad as I actually suspected.
