Just got back from 2 smoke day at the ACE Cafe' met 2 out of the FZR guys who went. Glen from New Zealand on his very tidy 1K & Mick on his pristine FZR 600 there was a tthird FZR with twin lights & air scoops in the top fairing (400?) but never caught up with the owner. If I work out how to get pics of this BL :swear Fone I will post them

Old Dog has learned a new Trick:-

Nice. That first white FZR is a 600. The indentation in the frame gives it away. Looks to be the 1990 color scheme. Nice bikes either way though.

Sweekster,
Do me a favour can you look at my fzr original pic as the colour scheme I have NEVER seen on another FZR on the net or any place else
The tank as you see is the same scheme as that 1k at the Ace BUT the rear fairing is "looking" different but sweeps into the colour scheme of my panels:-

George,

The first white one is indeed a '90 as Duane mentioned (at least in the U.S. it would be). Yours, here in the states, would actually be the white '91 model.

Brandon,
well that confirms what I have been saying about model years as mine is a '92 single headlamp here in the UK .
However I have NEVER found that colour scheme else where . The blue stripe is always found on the rear & lowers only OR on the tank as well, not just the tank alone

I have to give the plastics to a painter and have no pictures to give him except that on above & that is no use for the Left hand side.

Actually, our '91 (your '92) paint scheme is exactly what yours looks like. There was no blue on the lowers / rear. If you look closer at the first pic, you will notice that the red pattern is different than what's on your bike so they are not related in any way.

BTW, my 600 is a U.S. '92 (for comparison).

I'll try to put up a couple side-on shots so you can get a better view.

U.S. '90, '91, '92 (in that order)

LOL!!! Yeah, that's what she looked like before I crashed her! She'll look the same again though. Just need a frame since I'm using that one for a hybrid build.

Brandon,
Thanks for that, you may want to add them to the WIKI as historical pics for the years under the 600 banner we have, there are those who want to keep things stock as possible and authentic colour schemes do raise the asking price <BG>

Edited by Y_G

I added the colour scheme pics with suitable notes to the wiki in the FZR600 section under the appropriate years

Hi,
was down the Ace yesterday for Ton Up Day to get a bad dose of the "old days" met another FZR guy who is a member of STIG's 1k Forum here in the UK and told him about us and he was dead chuffed as his Madam has a 600 FZR..
Left there and headed for the London Motorcycle Museum at Greenford just down the road from the Ace and got to chat with the owner,Reg Allen, turns out he owns the Brit Iron shop in Hanwell that I always stop by if I am in the area to look at the great Alloy tanks in the window.

One of these days I will build another bike with such a tank....................................
