my headlights both randomly quit working, at the exact same time. everything else works.. turn signals, neutral light, oil light, brake light, etc

the fuses are fine, and i find it very unlikely that both of the bulbs wouldve burnt out at the EXACT same time, so i dont think thats the problem either

:( same thing happen to my 95 Yamaha FZR 600 today. Now I cant ride my bike tomorrow morning.

Do I just disassemble the hi/low beam assembly?

Sandata the switch with the blue wire is actually on the right handle bar. He one with the run and starter button. It's the wire that tells your bike to turn off the lights whilethe bike is cranking. You should be able to do this in less than an hour. So you should he able to ride in the morning.

Ha, but there's also a Blue/Black wire that goes to the left handle bar switch gear that can come loose. That told you didn't it? jk

That issue has also never happen to me (YET) It's great to share what we discover tho :)

Thanks for all the help, everyone! Hopefully I get some work done this weekend! So, does anyone ride with no headlights on during the day?

The problem in the UK is that if the cops stop you and it does not work you can be charged (I did hear arumour that in some places there is a form of daylight only licensed bike but I read so many forums in other countries i cannot remember where this was DOH !

Other than that I would never ride without good lighting any place day or night unless I had0 a death wish. Most cage drivers are blind/stupid so they NEED to see a big light coming at them and even then the cretins will say "sorry mate did not see you"

Quick update  So I bought new headlight bulbs and left side control and still no luck. I guess the next step is buy another headlight wiring harness.

Have you gone through and checked the voltage and resistance on the wires? I'm just kind of jumping to the end of this thread, but I would find out the specs before buying too much more stuff. It might just be a simple fix.
