Asking Price Help
I have a 94 fzr 1000, and im thinking about selling it. it has 36k miles, a custom paint job, newly powder coated rims, smoked windshield, a v&h exhaust and a few other things. And it runs great. Its certainly an eye catcher. I was wondering if you guys could help me with an asking price. Im not really sure what its worth or what someone would be willing to pay for it. thanks

G,
would help if we knew where in the world you are located , in Fiji it might be the only bike that size on the island and be worth 5-6K but in Germany where there are loads of them 800 Euro's might just about sell it.
Give us a clue as to where & pref. some picture you may get more help

A photo would be great too. Much like buying a home - first impressions are everything.
Thanks for joining and participating in the most "active" FZR Community on the internet!

Also, keep in mind, what you or other think it's worth and what people will actually pay are two different things.

Re: Asking Price Help
also when I hear "custom paint" the first thing that goes through my head is it's been wrecked, the second thing is I'm going to have to paint over some gaudy paint job that nobody but the current owner likes

Might be an idea to put the link up so we can take a look see, remember buyers are lazy they want a bargain for no work and as little cash as they can get away with.galant354 wrote:Thanks for the input. Re: Asking Price Help
Its a very nice bike I will say. What its worth is up to the buyer/seller.. it only worth what someone is willing to pay and what you're willing to sell for..
Has it had its valves adjusted recently? 36k is a lot and with anybike this old, do mind use the word loosely, I wouldn't expect for one to NOT be dropped in some way.. something I've learned to expect... the paint looks very nice.. is it a full exaust or sip on? Has it been jetted to match?
If the valves are checked and good, it doesn't eat oil and the tranny has no problems id pay 3 grand.. just what i'd pay. It may be worth more or less but if that checks out along with regulars of fluid changes and brakes, that's a good price poin for me. I'm sure others will give they're two cents.... cheers

Re: Asking Price Help
Ahh, that is more like it, shows before & after to us (not required when selling ) .
As stated else where the custom colour paint job will always be love it or hate it. mind you that can be said of some of the FZR's original colours too.
Here in the UK that would go for 1750 - 2.5K may be more on a good day. If you put it on E bay make the reserve 1750 and start price at 1600 maybe and see what happens.
Any work done on it should be stated ie has been jetted, has blah blah slip on etc
All the best with your sale lets hope she goes to agood home & when you sell it tell the new owner about FZROnline.com because if they are new to bikes /FZR's they will require help at some point
Thanks and as I said good luck
