Post by yamaha_george »

Well you favorite actor just signed the AB435 bill which outlaws after market pipes on bikes and now make EPA stickers mandatory in California
Usually he plays a knuckle head should get an Oscar for that one!

The EU are trying to bring those type of laws in over here as well George.
Its like that in Germany already, they cannot change anything from original i think.
It will keep all the money in fewer hands, and destroy a full aftermarket industry over night! The figures on improving road safety are not even an argument,so it must be about the money :headscratch: .
Standard road bikes-here we come.

The Govenator must have had some big pressure to sign that bill from the tree hugging hippies. Usually he doesn't care about that kind of thing.

Really though the aftermarket industry will continue. They will eventually make the concession that certain aftermarket items are ok once the market fallout happens. It was like that with the car industry then the said if the parts can comply with CARB standard (California Air Resource Board) which is the states more stringent laws above and beyond the EPA. I was wondering what was going to happen since the Fed decreed that they had to abide by the EPA laws and not make their own. But I don't know if that ever got in-acted.

Either way, it sucks. I'm just glad I don't have inspections or emissions testing for bikes here in Georgia.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

From what i recall it doesn't affect older bikes-only ones bought new after 1/1/2013. Either way old Arnie sucks as governor...

Me. I blame Jo Blow Public people they voted for him and as the saying goes you get the government you vote for and that is doubly true if you did not vote.

He was probably the "best of the worst". It's like a joke in the rest of the country to run for Governor of California... I don't know how anyone lives in that state.

Was it by a ballot initiative or voted by the legislature? It would have had to pass either before ending up on Arnold's desk. If it was a ballot measure, then I really can blame the citizenry. (Including myself for not participating). Yeah, it sucks to live here. At least we got a long riding season, but still...
FZR400 (1WG): Purchased a perfectly good FZR400 with Yoshimura slip-on/EXUP, Yosh jet kit, Factory ignition advance, Racetech springs and emulators. It even had great bodywork. Like some diseased maniac I had to mess with everything good about that bike. Well, at least I have better brakes now.

FZR400RR (3TJ):Yeah, it's pink.

And... you have some beautiful country to ride in. Course, it will look the same when you're all riding Segways in another year or so.
