I just pulled the motor out of my FZR400 a couple of hours ago. Runs great with no issues. I've had a YZF600 motor sitting for the past 3 years so I'm finally swapping it in. The 400 motor is available in Los Angeles, if you want it. Let me know if you are interested and I'll send pics.
FZR400 (1WG): Purchased a perfectly good FZR400 with Yoshimura slip-on/EXUP, Yosh jet kit, Factory ignition advance, Racetech springs and emulators. It even had great bodywork. Like some diseased maniac I had to mess with everything good about that bike. Well, at least I have better brakes now.

FZR400RR (3TJ):Yeah, it's pink.

After searching the EARTH for oversize pistons for the FZR 400 i have finally located some for $60 per piston, i found them at a place in the UK. They also have big bore kits for the FZR 400  so with that said i can now proceed to work on the bike.

That's a good price for the pistons. Wiseco will make a set at whatever specs but it can be coastly for one set. Valves from Ron Ayers is also quite pricey ($700 range for 16) I am looking into Kibblewhite for the valves. Valve guides are the same as the early R1.

I am just closing up a 460 motor that I hope to be racing next year. The other two bikes are relatively stock and they are like the Timex watches, takes a licking and keeps on ticking. I still have another two bikes to build after the 460 is completed.

I love these little FZR's
