GFP,
are you talking 1000mile an hour aircraft silver tape or the stuff sold as heat shielding for fairings etc?

Either one, just not the Duct Tape kind, looks kinda tacky to me. I have use both, the one with the fiber fill behind it works good for fairings, however I am partial to the kind the use for aircraft and filling the metal seams during Roofing

Thanks for your input, YG has already mentioned the Aircraft tape. I haven't used it (yet) because I want to see if the welds crack/fracture. I'm defiantly considering some other form of reinforcement, I was hoping for something transparent. The fairing tape I'd never heard of, the roofing tape (silver?) sticks to anything, I've used that during roofing repairs in the past (I'd forgotten about it).

I'm guessing the Aircraft/Fairing tape is covered in foil, therefore gives extra strength? and is not paper thin (like duct tape)

Something like this on my fuel tank.

Thanks again

Well I had NO performance issues whatsoever, then she would not start, #2 would not fire :swear I was rather annoyed. Turns out it was the British weather and the north wind :headbang:

After my ignition problems (#2 doing jack shit) and the corroded connections, she pulls like a train. I have pulled and inspected the airbox for cracks, none present.
