Ha yea Im actually thinking about taking the front fairings off to work on them and run it as a street fighter for the rest of the summer just for the change?

But I dont know what headlight I would use or even where i would start to make it a fighter, so that is where I'm headed to do some studying

what do you want to know. id say get whatever headlight you like i went with a used one that was already dot approved for inspection reasons and i like the look. i made the brackets for the light aswell and put the turn signals in the side of them. then theres the mirrors i think the fzr controls have the threaded hole for them already i know the clutch leaver does
ones life is the way it is only because you allow it make it happen.

Yea I thought about just getting headlights from an older bike that my dad has for free... cuz im broke... and yea i can always get handy with a sheet of metal to make brackets and what not for the signals and mirrors. The "street fighter" headlights are so expensive!!!!! The fighter look would probably be half a$$ed and shortlived (unless i Love it) so I will go cheap..

Man, it has been what seems like a year since I updated this. While although Life has been insanely busy, with going to school Full time, 16 credits, and running my own business, and keeping up with family, I have the Bug to finish this project I started soooo very long ago. say stay tuned for updates. I will be working on the body over the next couple of days and posting some pictures of the glassing, then I will be repairing the stock fairing with the platix, we will see how that goes. then off to get the wiring done.

As Promised
We started by Moving the "Bird Cage" forward about an inch, it lines up with the lower fairings better. And got that bolted into place.
Image
We made some relief cuts so the upper lines up to the lower fairings better.
Image
Then made a template to form the new upper to the curve of the lower. the Curve is a combination of the back curve of the FZR and the front curve of the r6
Image
Screwed it in place.
Image
Image
The next step is what a master fiberglasser would think of, sadly, that is not me
Image
We used the shrink wrap material they use on boats to form a backing for the fiberglass in the void between the fenders, it worked really well.
Image
I will post more pictures tomorrow.

More pictures:
So once we got an inner template made and were happy where the curves lines up, we made a outer template, and took everything off then screwed the upper to the outside template we just made and started glassing the inside for support
ImageImageImage

The next step will be to remove the supports reatatch the the upper and use the shrink wrap to start on the filler panels.

I will be working on that over the next couple of weeks and get it done just in time for winter riding :headscratch: o well I will get it out for a cruze around the block. I will post pics later.
