Vapor Gauge RPM function not working
I have finally ironed most of the kinks out of my new vapor, but no matter what I try I can't get an accurate reading for the tachometer. I have tried wrapping the plug wire, connecting to the red and white wire from the ignition coils, and even connecting to the tach wire that the OEM gauges use, but to no avail. What have the rest of the vapor owners used successfully on their FZR's?
Re: Vapor Gauge RPM function not working
What wire do the instructions say to use?
The Red/White is flat 12v; no signal there. The Grey or Orange leads are your ground wires back to the TCI, and are the pulse signals you'll need to drive the gauge.

Re: Vapor Gauge RPM function not working
The instructions are somewhat vague and list wrapping the wire around the plug cable as the first option, and connecting to the ignition coil as the second. I tried connecting the vapor to the grey and orange wires from the coils, but the rpms are way off- the gauge is showing about 8,000 rpms when the engine is idling and still kinda jumpy. Any other ideas?
