HELP!

Post by 92r »

today i took my bike on a short little run to do some errands. for the first 20 miles it ran great. but after that it started acting up. whenever im stoped and start it keeps on getting jumpy or just stalls. i was stuck at a light and it wouldnt start for a little bit. i finally got it to start again and it went but felt kinda unresponsive in the first and second gear. but when it got into the third gear and higher it ran like a champ. it runs great again until i stop and then try to start again. i accidently left the fuel switch on all day yesterday but would that be the problem or maybe even an oil change? if anyone has anything i can do or check please let me know. Im really hoping that its something that is an easy fix.

so far ive gotten some responses. oil filter, change oil, spark plugs, and other simple service things. anyone else have any thing else i should check?

I had issues like that until I did my service and then a carb sync. Those are all good advice.

oil change ???????????

I suggest you clean the cabs/ gas/filter / pilot/ start jets since this is where the bike is stumbling. re -synch them (all of this is in the WIKI)

I would while I am working on the carbs empty the gas tank out and see if that has dust / rust in it give it a good flush.
