brake upgrades
looking to do some brake upgrades, what do you suggest as far as a good front brake upgrade... and as far as a rear i was thinking of doing just a ss line. thanks for you help... mark

Well that all depends on how far you want to go.
[Front] On the simple side you could just change out your pads for some better ones (EBC HH pads come to mind at the moment). You could then go another step and add stainless or kevlar braided lines. You could go another step and replace the stock master cylinder with one like what you'd see on a modern sportbike (the little bottle). That combination along with proper bleeding to remove all the air out of the lines will give you enough bite to throw you over the bars.
[Back] On the simple side you could just change out your pads for some better ones (EBC HH pads come to mind at the moment). You could then go another step and add stainless or kevlar braided lines. I've seen some people replace their rear master cylinder with one that has an internal reservoir from a dirt bike. I'm not sure if they provide any better bite but it will clean up back there a little.
If you wanna make em pretty as well you could replace your rotors with the "wave" style ones. From what I read they are lighter in weight but I don't have em so I can't verify that for sure.

r6 master cylinder(and calipers if you want, no performance upgrade with them), braided lines, new pads, new fluid

The R6 MC is the cheapest upgrade for a MC, but I have to tell you when I switched from that to my brembo it was night and day. You pay for the brembo but damn is it just freaking solid. I'm not sure I could go back.

But seriously I tried out thatkid's brakes before and after and holy good god his brakes right now are amazing with that brembo setup. Almost bucked me over the top yesterday...

I noticed a huge difference just swapping over the R6 front MC and calipers. I also changed over the perches on both sides as well from the R6.

There is a huge difference. Don't get me wrong. I rode my R6 setup for a year. Switching from the r6 to the brembo was the same noticeable difference though. if i get the r6 master so i need to get the calipers as well and what are the benefits of the r6 calipers. do the have more pistons or are they larger... also when i do this i will get some ss lines as well and of course new brake pads what brand do you all use.... thanks for all the help. mark

you don't have to swap calipers, they aren't really a performance increase, but they have better pad selection and look better

if you have 2 pot calipers, you'll have to change forks to use them
