93 fzr to 04-06 r1 transformation...hopefully

Ok well this is my 3rd bike

The fzr is by far my favorite with its purple paint hehe but as soon as i rode it around i imagined turning into a beautiful r1. How hard could it be i told myself i mean its just plastic right? well the fact is im cheap and broke so im gonna have to basically put this together on nothing. as of now all i really want to do is put on the 04-06 r1 front cowl headlights and fairings...

I saw shredex topic and i thought he did some awesome work i was hoping some one knew of other posts to help me out with this project. I really dont want to make this a project that sits forever i want to knock it out and be on my way.. So far i have a broken front cowl, the inner fairings with the v piece which im not even sure if i really need, a slightly cracked windscreen, and on the way are some 04 r1 mid fairings...im keepin my eyes out for headlights but they are so dam expensive i dont know what to do...it is tough because im not sure how they mount to the cowl so i dont know how to create the fairing stay in relation to it

i upload my pics to the site in my img gallery and when writing a post where i want a pic i click the g2img tab and select the pic i want. thats how i do it i dont know hgow to do it any other way. you can use your origional stay bracket if you want id imagine youd have to modify it but i would get an r1 bracket of the year you want and adapt it to fit the fzr frame seems easier to me anyway

yeah thats a bit much, you might be able to find one on the r1 forum there are people parting out bikes there. but if your not good at fabricating the extra cost might be worth the ease of aligning the fairing and headlights one problem is the offset bracet mount on the fzr frame i think youd have to adapt the r1 bracket for it cause i think its a centered mount but im not sure.

On the upper frame it is a bit of money but I would suggest getting a metal upper stay, not alum. And adapting the bracket to the fzr, it has worked out beautifully for me. you might even be able to cut the fzr stay bracket off and weld that to the r1 metal stay then you would have something that mated right up like stock to the fzr frame bracket. check out my thread for pics. good luck

The R1 fairing stay bracket holds the headlights which hold the upper fairing. So the parts you see on the upper fairing in the picture mount to the headlights.
