you shouldn't have a hard time doing it .. At one point or another we were all regular ppl <and maybe still are> just like you till we grabed that screwdriver and couple allen wrenches now were all mechanics <in our minds> some actually have a peice of paper to prove it .. If you can start the bike , ride it , fill it up with gas then you should be able to do a couple other things you never thought possible .. I know i did thanks to these guys here and all the useful info they provided ..Just dont be afraid to get your hands dirty .. And always Measure twice maybe even three time so you only have to cut ONCE ..

man this is sweet looking all the bikes,i was thinking of doin mine but i didnt think it would turn out,,but i may do this,did you follow any certain lines or just picked a spot and went with it?

When I did mine I just played around with some masking tape for a while until I found something I liked. It really doesn't take that long to do after you find your line.

Does cutting those bars that the VR heat shield is bolted to hurt how strong the rear end is at supporthing weight?

I havnt had any issues, i've had many passengers on the back of my bike, and they vary in weight from 100lbs to id say about 155lbs
