So I laid down my bike and it was sounding like total CRAP. It was already idling high at 2k. Well after the wreck it idled at 2.1k. Also, when blipping the throttle it would take forever for the RPMs to come back down. After about 10 minutes of riding, if I stopped at a stop light it would idle at 4k... ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS. So I got the time to tear it down and see if I couldn't fix it. I figured the problem was in the carbs. I cleaned the exterior and made sure the choke slide worked, it did. Opened up the carbs made sure the floats were working, seemed fine. Figured I'd tinker with the sync and air/fuel. I also managed to bend a jet needle

I bent it back for now until I can get my hands on a new one (just gotta make a phone call to a friend). So I start it up... It's sounding alright, let it idle for a bit and I look down and notice fuel is leaking. I figured I didn't tighten the fuel hose onto the petcock tight enough... But no, that'd be too easy. I had fuel leaking out one of my air/fuel screws. So I tightened it down until it stopped... So basically, my real questions is... what the hell causes that? Could it have been the bent needle if that was the same carb?
Regardless, the bike sounds WAY better, I just need a good idea of what might be going on.
Anyway, off to bleed the brakes...
