Sellers: Your "For Sale" ad may be pulled if you do NOT have your location in your profile. New members with less than 10 posts should give adequate information concerning themselves and why they are selling.

Members: Please use your best judgement when buying from others online, whether it be from someone here or Craigslist or eBay. Use a service to pay, like PayPal, never send cash, checks or other payment. If possible, refrain from giving out too much of your personal information. We do not limit new users from selling as we want our members to be able to get first dibs. It can be risky buying from anyone. Use common sense. If it doesn't feel right - don't do it. If possible, buy from a reputable member.

thanks for all the comotion for this bike, I am new to this yes, and didn't know how to posts pics, and someone would inform me on how to do that I will put some up. And yes the fairing is in mint condition. Yes the location of the bike is Concord, NC. Please help. I have many pictures to post. I am willing to deal on the price it isn't set in stone. I know I am probably missing more stuff that would help sell it, but its better to see it in person. If you really want to see a picture of it go to craigslist and you will find it there. I have also been on here before and asked around for parts when I went to go building it back in the winter season of '07, but couldn't remember my username or password so I created a new username and password. My old e-mail that I used to use was an e-mail I don't check any more. In fact I was also in the yahoo FZR400 groups.

FF,
Now if you had put that in the first post you might not have gotten so much flack.
There is a how-to post pics on the gallery section if my memory serves .............

I understand the jurisdictional argument, but I think we may be overstating the likely consequences. I've been around the block a bit and I have never heard of anyone doing Fed time for buying a stolen motorcycle. I am convinced that any attempt at policing this community would prove counterproductive. At the end of the day, there is no way to prevent would-be fraudsters from posting stuff for sale on this forum. Long-standing members, or not, there is no way to know for sure whether the seller is dealing in stolen goods.

Ultimately, it is the buyers responsibility to take adequate measures. If you are buying a vehicle get proper documentation. (Registration, Title, Bill of Sale). Verify the information on the documents. Especially the VIN numbers. Bring a friend (witness). If you are really afraid of getting busted, you will have prepared your defense. That's about all you can do. If you are still worried about it, buy from a licensed dealer. The end.
FZR400 (1WG): Purchased a perfectly good FZR400 with Yoshimura slip-on/EXUP, Yosh jet kit, Factory ignition advance, Racetech springs and emulators. It even had great bodywork. Like some diseased maniac I had to mess with everything good about that bike. Well, at least I have better brakes now.

FZR400RR (3TJ):Yeah, it's pink.

I appreciate that comment and I don't want anyone buying stolen goods either and would be happy to give you the vin number so you could check yourself. Just e-mail me at ccragan@flowesstorefire.org to find out, thanks. You know cause if I post it on here, there is no telling what could happen, as everybody sees it. Just let me know, CCragan@flowesstorefire.org

Well the good news is that the thread has seen a lot of hits at least

My suggestion - post a more reasonable asking price

I'll be posting over some of your pictures from your craigslist shortly to help you out seeing how you're providing the vin and are rolling with the criticism

Next time and to future sellers make sure you post PICs, Price, and Location

You hit the nail on the head. I couldn't agree more. I do suggest purchasing parts from reputable members here, but I would still go through a payment service rather than dealing with cash.

After working with the Site Directors, I have since modified the forum heading for the "For Sale" sections.

Alright.... I have renamed this thread so the original poster can actually sell his bike to someone and we'll chalk this up to "education". His actual selling thread is here: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=6452

How did I do it?

I am not buying anymore bikes, (or at least for a while) because I am, for one, getting married in october this year and am purchasing my first home soon and I don't want me to wreck the the bike and me be laid up in the hospital and can't pay my mortgage and then it goes into foreclosure, just thinking logically, ya know? There is nothing wrong with the bike at all. You can trust me on that, my dad is a licensened motorcycle mechanic and when we rebuilt it we both took it all apart and went thoroughly through it.

I think with 42k and being priced at 3500 obo is a lil out there just my 2 cents... I know the bike is worth what someones going to pay but c'mon man, even if the fairings are mint, with that kind of mileage out of a 400 I wouldn't pay more then 2.... just personally. If youre looking to sell it and not worry about riding as your going to be buying a house, price it to sell and what its worth within the ballpark... maybe 2200 obo? hell I got my 1k with 15k on it in mint condition with a 2nd set of fairings for 1900.....

Okat enough with the rambling, good luck on the sale. Hope you learned some things for posting and happy home buying..

Think about it though, calculate it up, for it being a 1990 with only 42,000 miles on it, how many miles per year was driven on it. That is really not a lot for the age. I would go as low as 2800 for the price but thats it. Just have spent tons of time building it and that is worth something ya know? With that being said and it in primo condition, I don't want to just give it away by low balling it like that ya know?

I think we all agree that it is a great example of a FZR400. Just remember that the bike will never be as valuable to the buyer as it is to you since you have so much time into it.

I lost my ass selling my FZR, especially with all the after-market/custom stuff I added to it, but I had certainly learned a great deal about it.

Good luck with the sale!
