chain and sprocket sizes fzr 600

Post by FZR AL »

Hi Guys ,

been new to FZRs ,what should be the standard size sprockets front and rear be on my 89-90 3HE noticed that the rear is a 46 tooth and what do you suggest for a chain x ring o ring , did RK

I have got a few tight spots on the chain and even if i slack off on the adjusters it still there, so i might as well relace the whole lot although saying that the sprockets look fine , do you think i would get a way with just a new chain?

cheers
Al

Stock size for the 3he is 15/45 with a 530 chain. If you're going to replace the chain you might as well do the sprockets too (better wear characteristics). Some might say you don't have to but I'm not one of those people. An RK ro DID O Ring chain with good sprockets will do the trick.

+5K on changing out the chain & sprockets as a set anyway else is just a waste over time.

Stock length is 106 links if I remember correct. 15/46 in a 520 should be fine and that will probably fit the stock length chain.
