does anyone know if the exup shock is a direct swop for the genesis, and also is it possible to swop the swingarm for an exup

my back shock has had it!! also do any other models fit ie 600/750 etc

Hi,
welcome, I am not a 1k owner BUT i know the WIKI & Search engine on here should lead you to threads on swing arm & shock swaps . The 600 guys use R6 shocks & a dogbone swap that ReeLRazor (board member) does perhaps he could use an R! shock for a 1K.?? I figure the R6 would be overwhelmed by the 1K's weight

Most FZR models have the same pivot bolt width on the swing arm, be wise to measure yours and then tell us, the 600 is 220mm including dust caps

According to Fox Racing Shox, the FZR1000 uses a softer spring than both the FZR600 and the R6, so you should be okay there. I wouldn't be surprised if the FZR1000 shock linkage is more like that found on the FZR400RR since they both use softer springs than other FZRs. Area of concern would be the shock length as the R6 shock is shorter than than either FZR600/FZR400RR. I'm not sure of the length on the FZR1000 but the 600 and 400RR measure 300mm and 335mm eye-eye respectively.
FZR400 (1WG): Purchased a perfectly good FZR400 with Yoshimura slip-on/EXUP, Yosh jet kit, Factory ignition advance, Racetech springs and emulators. It even had great bodywork. Like some diseased maniac I had to mess with everything good about that bike. Well, at least I have better brakes now.

FZR400RR (3TJ):Yeah, it's pink.
