backfire

hi guys! Got a 94 fiz. Runs mint but backfires when letting off after high acceleration or high rpm. Also what should the tack be @ whin idling? Thanks so musch for your help!

800-1500 for tach, usually 1100

sounds like your carbs to me, give me some more info, stock pipes, have a jet kit, pods or airbox? How do the plugs look

mine idles well at 1100 . dunno about the backfires tho , you might be running rich .

back-firing usually indicates a lean condition I believe.

leak in the exhaust will cause a rush of air into it upon letting off the gas and make backfire-like noises

combustion outside your cylinders......could be any of the problems above but your valves might be outta wack.

Before you go adjusting anything (especially since you just got it) make sure you run a full tank of gas thru there and fill up with a fresh 93 octane tank of gas, see if it still happens.

How many miles does it have ?

The problem was a leak in the one of the headers. IT WAS A HOLE. I patched it up with some JB WELD for now and Ill put a new system on in the Winter!!! Thanx everyone!
