fuel pump swappin!

Post by fizzer600 »

so i posted in the general discussion about a fuel pump swap Noob and well my pump quit working and im too cheap to buy a pump thats half the cost of the bike itself. so i went to my oreillys and got the Mr.Gasket 4-7 psi pump they had there.thanks sweekster for a second opinion!! i put it on and it said you had to mount it at a 45 deg. angle to the plane of the tank. there aint a helluva lotta room under the tank but it does fit! plumbed it in and it primes, so i took it out and really tested that pump!!! everything works well...............for now. that sunuva biotch better not quit on me 50 miles from home!!! :headbang:

Glad it worked out. I plan on putting the same pump on my bike. That is when I have the time and money for my bike.

yep. the fuel pump has to be mounted at 45 degree angle (so the inlet is pointed slightly down) otherwise i guess youll burn up the pump.thats what the instructions said. it makes sense im sure a fuel pump will push fuel better than pulling it . i dont know all i know as it works!!!!!!
