hey guys, newby here.
i got a fzr 600 a few weeks back, well i was riding and one of the bolts backed out of the stator and was rubing against the fly wheel. so i pulled the cover and found that the pick up coil was broken off the mount, but the bike was still runing fine? so i order a used stator set up and put it in and i have no spark, check the ohms on the pick up coil and its only 95, my manual sais 135-165.i take it that the pick up coil has to have enough resistance to trigger the cdi box? and 95 ohms isnt enought or am i looking at it all wrong and something else went bad fomr the back pick up coil?
thanks guys
Evan

Re: fzr 600. no spark
Does the new stator look like the old one? A member on here was sold a stator that fit, but was from a YZF600 - it sparked, but it did so at the wrong intervals....

Re: fzr 600. no spark
I thought the Rotor and Pickup control the spark time. The rotor has magnets attached to it that cause a pulse in the pickup, which the CDI converts to spark timing.
I had a YZF600 stator for a bit. It worked great until the VR burned it up. Now I have a FZR600 stator in a YZF600 case, had to make new mount holes.
The pickup needs to be within specs. It is a very picky item. A bit of either way can cause you to have no spark.
