Ignition Switch

In the states, this was the upgrade to the FZR600. In other places, this is called an FZR. Either way, many of the components of the US YZF600r fit onto the US FZR600.

Ignition Switch

Post by bowie67 »

Hi All,
Just joined the forum as my son's just bought a FZR600R Foxeye model (think it's an R anyway, how do you know?)

The ignition switch is very tempremental and i've removed it today for a look. It has 2 block connector plugs, 1 with 2 wires the other with 4 wires.

Looked on e-bay for a replacement but they all seem to be a single block with 4 wires.

Anywhere I can get the very one? (UK)

Also looking for a set of downpipes as the current ones are 'blowing'.

Look forward to your help/advice.

Cheers, Bowie

That bike was succeeded by the ThunderCat in 97 (pretty much the same bike with new bodywork and a few other things). You may want to search Thundercat parts. Or you can search the YZF600r (US model) as that was the same bike as well.

You can also run the Thundercat exhaust system (headers & can). In the UK, you want to search for FZR600R and YZF600(R). The "R" at the end of the FZR600R is important as it separates the 2 models (3HE vs 4JH Foxeye). Most of the chassis components are interchangeable between the Foxeye and Thundercat.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.
