well... got the wiring all out of the bike last night, front end gets torn down tonight... then the frame will be powdered... we are going to pair the orange with this tuscan black... it is a 10% flat black... should look wicked with the orange! Sean and i went over what parts we where going to do black and orange last night... so we are now on the same page and ready to lay some color! I am ordering my powder right now... and have began to prep for paint as well... going to be a big weekend on the fighter.
what do you guys think? i think the flat black will be differnet and fit the fighter theme pretty well... we typically never use flat black on anyting we build, so i am pretty stoked!

The parts look awesome!

Will the fork oil not affect the paint on the down tubes?

it is a super durable powder that is a epoxy base made for chemicals, we have used this powder to coat the inside of gas tanks, so it should be fine. the problem was getting the tubes to stop outgassing (small pin hole size bubbles in the powder) so we outgassed them for an hour at 400, then blasted them, then shot them. they still outgassed, prob from sitting in fork oil for all those years, so i stripped them and shot them again and they did it again but not hear as bad, so this time we sanded and recoated, came out good! now the trick will be to get them back into the trees without scratching the hell out of them.... alot of coaters refuse to touch down tubes, figured since this was my bike we would figure out how to do them and do them right, got it down now!
my only consern is, there was a polly washer on the inside of the down tubes, i had to remove that so it did not melt in the oven. problem is the bottoms are pressed in on these down tubes. i have never seen anything like it, i have taken apart over 50 pairs of down tubes.... so i am goin to re assemble and see what happens, there is nothing that should affect at all, so i am not to worried. figured since you guys are the FZR guys i would run it past you

everyone loves new parts! just got some....
got another seat off ebay for $10... i am going to glass the top of that, so that i can make a cowl like the newer rockets have out of this. I also scored a set of r6 front brake calipers complete with braided line they are going to give me a bit more stopping power up front! should be really nice!!!! getting there!

we are doing a tax season special this month for 65 per wheel to be powder coated, that is a single shot powder (+20 to pull bearings per wheel). includes, chemical strip, blasting, and coating.
let me know if you have any questions. we also can pull rubber and replace it for an additional charge.

Got some more powder laid this weekend, also had some time so i tossed the rubber back on the rims tonight as well... looking good so far... aslo a bit more prep work for paint. You can see the orange and the flat black really look sick together... hope to get some time and we can shoot the orange on the engine cases and frame/swing arm this week some time!

Motor is painted! man i have to tell you i could not be more happy wiht the color! was actually really nice and easy to shoot it. I did not have to mask the cases because i am tearing those off and stripping them for powder so i was just able to toss them back on the motor and spray away! was nice! prepped the motor with "prep" and some denatured alchole, heated up the shop to around 73, and shot... came out awesome! after it is cured and hard i will pull the motor off the hang and bring the table in wiht the tins that are prepped and ready for some ghost skulls and carbon fiber! I wish the clear that i ordered had come in, but it has not, so i am still waitning on that. got my new brakes and WOW are they purrrrrrdy!

nope those are all getting pulled off and powder coated the Orange color... was nice to be able to just toss them on, prep the motor, and paint... we have to chemical strip them anyway so any over spray on them is fine cause it all gets stripped anyway.
they will match the swing arm and frame and wheels
