DMG hate club

Post by manveru »

i think we should start a DMG hate club lol. the 2 years they've owned it the ama has gone down hill fast. Imo american road racing is a joke to the rest of the world, i'd be surprised if an ama racer made it to motogp in the near future. I also wonder how many other companies will pull out of the series besides honda.

Based on the BS that took place last year. My guess is a lot of them. At least we won't see any more 1125cc V-twins going against 600cc I-4's any more. Talk about a crock of shit. And their TV coverage was worst than the coverage we get of the WSB and GP races in the US.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Were they the ones responsible for changing the 600 SuperSport class to 600 Sport Bike? I can't stand that! :swear So SuperSport is now the younger group... Hmmm... I know it sounds trivial but it really should be the other way around. It looks like the going back to standing starts though so that's good...

Guys,
in racing of all sort you get the get rich quick crews who come in change everything in site loose cah piss of riders/ companies/spectators.

In todays down turn the priveteer is litterally out of it so start number dwindle, the old answer was to pick a Marque class a relatively cheap bike *RD350 /RZ350 & 350 LC's are an example and race thoughs any one could join in.

There is amove afoot to get the chinese cheapo hoysing 250 GT involved in this kind of set up.

Here in the uk some classes are massively over subscribed and others so thin on the ground they have to be started with bikes that will beat the hands down which from the fast guys point of view is acurse another rolling road block and the little guy gets no sense of winning his class as he goes over the line in 10th place overall.

Yeah, we see this a lot at Willow where they'll run like three different waves in one race. It's really hard to watch because you can't really tell what's going on. It should be quite interesting being a part of that mess.

Well, what the DMG did was a little different. They made the 600cc Super Sport class which had age limits, sponsor limits, and big time manufacturer limitations. Then they made the 600cc Super Bike class. The Buell 1125cr raced in this class against the 600cc I-4's from Japan. The only reason they raced in that class is because it was the only one they could win in. And they didn't even win every race. The DMG so much as said that they needed a place for the Buell to race to help them become competitive.

About the only thing I agree with that the DMG did was to try to help out the Privateer racer. But they put such a strangle hold on everything else to do it that it ultimately hurt the sport here in the US. Honda backed out completely. Suzuki backed out as well but then showed up at the last minute. I think that was more for Matt Maladin than anything else.

Did anyone else wonder why it took so long for all the rules to be announced to the manufacturers? Shortly after they were released, there was talk about all the manufacturers getting together to start a new race league and give a big finger to the DMG. I think that if the rules had been released earlier a new league would have really happened.

At least DMG realized how aweful this last year was and is going to make some drastic changes. Or at least that is what they are saying for now.
