Please help

today, i get to 7500 rpm, starts spitting and stuttering like usual, i give it a little more, nothing. all of a sudden i hear and feel a pop, the bike suddenly revs to like 9k, smooth power, nice!!! i can pull clutch and rev it up to 10k sometimes now and sometimes it stutters at 7500 again. mostly under load it will not rev that high but sometimes it will break 9k but roughly. carbs? ignition? ignitor? plugs are in nice shape. wfter i got it revving tonight, the pipes got extremely hot!

I would say carbs. Is it jetted? Adjustable needles installed?

It has pods? Probably jetted. That is usually the case with pods. Stock size is 38mm for the 1K (both the Genesis and the Exup) unless they are flat sides which then they'd be bigger than stock. You should at least clean them and make sure all your jets are clear. Had that issue with my 1K recently and cleaning them did wonders.

How low are you talking?

And, did the jets make it worse? Or better?

UPDATE.

Replaced with a used engine and it runs good. installed my old carbs and it still wouldnt rev so i installed the carbs that came with the new motor which are from a different model. i believe the new carbs are from an exup motor (new engine was a genesis stuck in a 94 exup frame). well, the new carbs allow the motor to rev to its full capability but arent a perfect fit on the bike. when i got my bike the guy said the carbs werent the right ones, im guessing they were too small. does anyone know the stock sizes, numbers, etc...? the ones on there now work but id love to find stock carbs.

thanks in advance.
